Closing my blog

Dear Blogging Friends,

I know it’s been ages since my last post and although I have gotten over the sinus cold my allergies still have been very bad this year and I often just do not feel very good.  I know my silence worries many of you and I do apologize, but when I am down and not feeling good,  even depressed it seems to be my nature to withdraw.  I am so grateful that so many of you think of me.  I love each of you and hope in time I will feel up to continue visiting again, but as for blogging I have decided to close down.  My heart is just not in it anymore and I have decided I want to move on to something different.  What that is is what I am looking for.  I just won’t be spending as much time online as I use to.  I am not a good letter writer, but I do have many of your emails for those who visited me here often and so I’ll drop you a line now and then.

Thank you my friends for you caring and love you have shown me over the many years I have been blogging.  I will leave this blog up so you may use the contact page to get a hold of me if you do not have my email.

For each of you I wish only the best and many blessings.  I carry each of you here in my heart and have tons of memories to warm me always.  God Bless each of you.

Nancze

I have realized that some of you don’t know exactly what happened. My mom developed hernias from the c-sections that she had when my brother and I were born. For the last year or so, we have been trying to get someone to do surgery to repair them because they had really started to hurt her. Nobody wanted to until she lost some weight, and well, with the issues over the last few months, that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. A week ago yesterday (Friday May 23rd) she complained a lot and had my brother take her to the emergency room. Apparently the hernias had obstructed her bowel in some way. I was on vacation in Miami when Cliff called to say that they were going to do surgery. I don’t know exactly what went on everything on that night is just heresay to me. But as I said surgically she is doing fantastic. No problems there. The last time I posted she was still on a c-pap machine but now she is only on nasal oxygen (except when she sleeps, then she is back on the c-pap). She is getting up and moving around, sitting in the chair next to her bed and acting like her old self again. She is getting very bored though. But I just keep telling her the faster she feels better and does better, the faster she can get home (but under the umbrella of don’t push yourself too hard). Anyway I have to go to work now. Thank you for all your prayers, all of us appreciate it very much. They are working.

God Bless,
Emily

Hello guys. As most of you or probably all of you know (Thank you Karen), Mom is in the hospital. Today she was very alert (alert enough to give me the password so I could post an update on here for her) and is doing great. She got up and sat in the recliner next to her bed for a long time according to the nurse. I went there during my lunch break and had a conversation with her the whole time (she usually fell in and out of sleep most of the time before). Last night I was so proud of her because she wanted to move up on the bed and she pushed herself to the top of the bed without any help. I don’t know when she’ll get out of ICU, but hopefully soon. She is still on the C-Pap 24 hours but hopefully that will change. I will post every so often to keep you guys updated (although probably not every day, sorry) until she comes home and can do it herself. Please keep her in your prayers.

On behalf of my mother,
Emily

Photobucket We didn’t take a drive friday as I had hoped. JD was really tired and so I just fixed us a small supper and let him relax and get comfortable. He is off Thursday and Friday of this week so maybe we can do it one of those nights.

The week-end was pretty much the usual. I went to pogo.com and found the Bingo game I really enjoy. So went there quite a bit and enjoyed playing. Years ago when my best friend was here we would go fairly often and play Bingo. It’s big in Oklahoma. I never won hardly especially big except for one time. But the winning wasn’t all that important to me. Just spending time with my friend and being out was the most fun for me. I haven’t been for years. I kept seeing advertizements for Pogo and the free games so decided to give it a look see. I immediately was drawn to the Laua Bingo and found it was a lot of fun. The graphics are great and it gives you different opportunities to increase your Bingo tokens which was neat so that you felt it was worth playing even if you didn’t win. lol.. The blogging world and even getting emails is much slower on the week-ends so this was nice to find.

Saturday night Emily and Michael had a wedding to attend and Emily asked if I like to keep Preston. Which of course I did. She met us at 5 and we treated Preston to Pizza before we headed home with him. He was really great that night, played well and enjoyed some of his tv shows. It was late when Emily came to get him. I had him in his pj’s and even had him lying down on the couch and he would of went to sleep, but she called so I let him stay awake so he would go to bed quickly when he got home. Sunday JD worked so I just spent a quiet day at home, playing Bingo off and on.

Tonight is Dancing with the Stars. JD is working evenings so he’ll be home at the tail end. I was so sleepy all morning and really didn’t wake up good till almost noon. It got cold last night and this morning but has warmed up to the 70’s.

The news this morning was the speech that Rev. Wright gave at the press club’s breakfast meeting. I gather that they feel he will damage Obama’s campaign even more with this. He say’s he is getting threats on his life, which I don’t doubt, but what got me was that the Islamic nation is giving him protection? He states he is patriotic and I was surprised to hear he had served 6 years in the military as a Marine, but that his hatred is against our govt. I know that our govt. if far from perfect, in fact I’ve been very mad and angry with it too, but we need to find a way to improve it, not condemn it. He is just so full of hatred and bitterness and is still carrying the grief of slavery into today. As long a blacks continue to carry this chip on their shoulder about their past we will never get past the problem of racism in this country. All people of all nationalities need to learn to forgive, put the past behind and love and respect each other. I’m not saying we should forget. No we need to be reminded of the cruelty that had happened. We need to remember it was past tense, had and not something that needs to be fueled into what is going on today. Well it’s just my opinion.

Found this new meme called Question of the Week. It’s really several questions, but it looks interesting so I decided to do it. It’s listed at the meme’s list.

Question of the Week #16

1. Have you tried running far away from home alone? How does it feel? –I have felt like it, but have never did it, I couldn’t think of where I would go, how I would get by and I believe whatever you’ve commited to you need to stick with it, especially with marriage, family, etc.
2. Who or what is most beautiful to you? –Anyone who has a loving, kind and compassionate heart for others.
3. You are still sleeping and suddenly someone wakes you up. What would be your first reaction? –JD has done that to me and I screamed, I certainly jump up with a start. lol
4. What’s your significant other/partner/husband/wife calls you? And what do you call him/her? –I call JD by his given name Jerry and he calls me by mine.
5. Someone is knocking at your car window, and you see a little girl selling fruits for $1. Are you going to buy one or just ignore her? Please be honest. –If it’s a fruit I like I would buy one, if it was something I wouldn’t eat I would say simply, “No thank you I don’t care for _____ maybe next time.”
6. What time did you wake up today? Happy or Sad? –I woke up around 9am and I was happy.
7. Do you go to work everyday? Where? –No I’m retired from nursing and am on disability now
8. What did you do this past weekend? –Watched my Grandson and played Bingo on line
9. A random photo off the web…anything at all that you think is worth posting. Post it here.

Lake Geneva, Switzerland

10. Why did you chose that picture/image? –I have always love the Alps of Switerland and the country itself, it has been a dream of mine that one day I would get to travel there and see the Alps in person.

Till next time…..

Some blessings –
like rainbows after rain
or a friend’s listening ear –
are extraordinary gifts
waiting to be discovered
in an ordinary day.

Photobucket Just chillin out today, nothing special, JD is off but is helping out at the feed store. This evening I think I’m going to suggest going for a ride and stopping to eat somewhere. Have no where special in mind just thought we’d stop when ever we saw someplace we’d like to eat at. We never really doing anything on the spur of the moment, so thought it would be nice. Just hope JD isn’t to tired to do it.

I love doing the Friday Fun meme, but the owner has been gone due to a death in the family for a couple of weeks. It’s back today though so will do it. Then I’ll also do the The Saturday Special today. I finally remembered! Another favorite friday meme I love is the Friday Feast

Friday Fun

2. When did you you first begin to blog? –If memory serves me right it was in 2000 when I started, but I may be off by a year. I do know that I feel like I’ve always done it.
3. When you go online, what do you do first? –check my email, always
4. You go to your favorite bookstore. What section do you go to first? –The Christian section then I browse the the newest additions.
5. American Idol, The Bachelor, Project Runway, Hell’s Kitchen. Which would be your first choice? –Project Runway, I enjoy seeing the creations and challenges

It’s Hot today….

Photobucket

It’s a whopping 86º out today and if I still sunbathed that’s what I would be doing, but I don’t sit in the sun anymore unless I’m shaded. To much skin damage from when I was a younger girl and loved to get a dark tan. It’s something I kind of regret now, but it’s done. I just don’t need to add to it. In fact I need to give P.L. a bath today. He is digging after a gopher and came in just so filthy. Also with something plastered to his back, which I don’t think is just dirt. lol..

It was a nice week-end. Emily is starting her new job at the lawyer’s office’s today. She is starting out as receptionist. I hope she likes it, but it’s going to be a big change not seeing Preston all day until this evening. I’ll call her this evening to see how it went and what she thinks. She is sure because of what was said in the interview that if she does well and they like her work, she will be given a staff position later on. All in all it will be great office experience for her.

The graduation ceremony went well. I got a few pictures of it and the luncheon I’ll share today and tomorrow. I have given it a lot of thought and so many are just posting during the week and taking the week-end off, so I will start doing the same. I plan to visit over the week-ends though. On with the graduation. The ceremony was typical, but not long. they had over 60 graduates so did two ceremonies. One at 6pm and then 8pm. Em’s was the 8pm one. We got there in plenty of time and had Preston sitting with us for most of the ceremony, till dad took him out. At that age they get pretty restless. lol. The first picture is of Preston looking at the program. Then the next picture is of Emily getting her degree. She is just left of the podium and right of the lady in red. You can see her blonde hair and tassel well. She never did look out to the front! and then the last today is a picture of the decorate table at the luncheon with the cake. I’ll share a few more tomorrow.

I arrived at the church at 9:30 or just before and JD and I had went on into town for breakfast before going. He helped to set up the chairs and tables before it was time for him to go to work. My sister-in-law Bec showed up with the food and got the brisket sliced and the beans and the brisket in the oven to stay warm. Emily and Preston showed up about 10:30, but most was done. Bec went home to change. We had about 30 or so come, not as many as we planned or hoped for, but a nice turn out and we had a nice visit. Her grandmother and grandpa came with Uncle Kent, Her uncle Jody and Aunt Kim with their daughter Kelsey came. The other daughter had to work as many people did. Cliff came, but Val was gone to take a test for her teaching certificate, which had been planned prior to the date being set. Another Uncle and Aunt came too. The Bec and Jim. JD showed up just as we were about down cleaning up. There was plenty of food left over so I brought it home so he could have it for dinner. In fact we ate on the brisket through today. It sure was good. Sunday we both slept most of the day after church. He was off finally on a sunday. Today it’s really hot out. JD is working the evening shift. They had another quit at AutoZone, so he may have to work more this week, but so far he hasn’t heard. Today is Dancing with the Stars. So after fighting with P.L. to get his bath I’ll just relax this evening and make visits later.

I want to ask prayer’s for my friend Tania, whose Dad is in the hospital. He has Alzheimer’s type dementia and they are going to have to put him in a Nursing Home. I know that it is a very difficult decision for them and they are in a lot of pain. So please say a prayer for them. I also ask prayers for the Christian’s of America as we are being slammed more and more in the media today. The moral’s and principal’s on which this country were founded are being attacked more and more. My friend at 2 Sister’s on the Right. Is great a bring to our attention ariticles of interest during this election that effect The Christian ethic. I know my God is fully aware of what is happening in the world today, and has warned us against those that twist and not preach the truth. We must remain strong in our belief that Salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone. Without Him people are truly lost. There is a lot of rather scary things going on today and people need the truth more than ever. I hope eyes are truly opened and the truth is received.

Till next time…..

May God be gracious to us
and bless us and make
his face shine upon us.

Another short post

PhotobucketTomorrow evening is Emily’s graduation. Today she, Preston and JD drove down around Lawton, to go up Mt. Scott, see the Holy City, where an Easter Pagent and outdoor play is done every year, and to go have a Buffalo burger for lunch. I opted to stay home as it looks like rain, my sinus’s were bothering me and the wind was blowing hard again. I didn’t feel like fighting it. I’m rather tired anyway and even took a nap earlier. Plans for the saturday luncheon are getting done. We are guessing about 45 will come. I pick up the cake tomorrow and we will get into the fellowship hall at 9:30am so should have plenty of time to set up.

I’ve been watching a bit of the Pope’s activities as they are following them all on Fox News. I will be busy the next couple of days, but will hopefully have a long post with pictures by the end of the week-end. I will try to get visits in and all when I am not busy and have the time. Till then.

Our Lord has written
the promise of
the resurrection,
not in books alone
but in every leaf
in springtime.
