Monday’s doings…
I hope everyone had a nice week-end. Mind was nothing unusual. In fact I really didn’t do very much at all. I felt up to cooking a big supper last night and battling the dishes. I sure miss having a dishwasher, lol.. I haven’t any pictures yet of the new puppy, but we did come up with a name we both liked. We will be calling him Petey. He and P.L. get a long so well, I am rather suprised as P.L. is so spoiled. He plays well with the little one and in fact the Petey hurts him more with those sharp tiny baby teeth. They love going out side and playing, Petey is so small and he hops about in the grass. It’s fun to watch him. I sure hope I haven’t taken on to much with two dogs. What I’m really hoping for is that Petey won’t be as destructive a chewer as P.L. is. lol..
I ran to town to put up some medicine refills and mail off some bills. Such a dreaded chore, paying the bills. But it’s done. It’s really very warm out. The temp says 84ยบ and 70% humidity. There is a line of storms to the south, so we made have them tonight. I watched the first installment of “Cranford” on Masterpiece theater last night and recorded it. What a delightful story. I look forward to the next two shows. I love storied of this period in England when everything was so prim and proper. I find it fascinating. Truly a much simpler time, but not the easiest to live in I’m sure. I love the dresses of the time, although I can imagine during the heat of summer it was quite uncomfortable. I also too would miss not being able to wear pants, or shorts. I often wonder how God knows when what period a person is born into. I know since my birth in 1948 so much as changed, especially technology wise. In fact it’s almost scary at times. I was watching “The View” this morning and Barbara Walter’s biography has been released and they were talking about how there is almost no privacy anymore especially with the internet and You Tube. Barbara was saying that she is very careful about what she says and information she gives out about herself even on the show as you never know who in the audience had a video phone and was recording them. Any with all the sad things that I’ve seen being tape and put on You Tube I certainly can understand their concern. Things are always a threat to be spread, as in the example of the Town gossip Mrs. Pole in Cranford, but family secrets and embarrassments were much easier kept I’m sure during those times.
I have a neice who is graduating from high school in Missouri on the 18th of this month. There is a 1st birthday party for Eli on the 17th so we won’t be able to attend as we did her brother’s several years ago. Also that saturday Emily leaves on their cruise, and we’ll be keeping Preston for several days, although I am not sure which ones yet. His other Nana is keeping him a couple of nights when she is off and she won’t know which days till the week before. Of course that doesn’t make a lot of difference to me as I am always here. Traveling would just be such a hassel for me with the oxygen and having to have the CPAP every night. We could take it, yes, but it would be a big bother. We also have way to many bills to pay to think of a trip. We do have his parents motor home and it would be so nice to travel in it, but the cost of the gasoline would be so outrageous. Even a short trip would be expensive. I wonder if there will ever be a break in the economy and cost’s become much easier to bear. From the looks of things I don’t see it.
Not much else to chat about today. It is really a lovely day all in all. I am off to make visits and all. Hope you have a blessed evening and week. Till next time……
Isn’t it spendid to think of
all the things there
are to find out about?
It just makes me feel glad
to be alive–it’s such an
interesting world
It wouldn’t be half
so interesting if we knew
all about everything.~ Lucy Maud Montgomery ~
