Photobucket Again another usual rather quiet day. I did head into town this morning to pick up a few items at the grocery store. Then I stopped by Cliff and Val’s. Eli was up so I got to play with both him and Madison. Now at home I just finished watching a bit of tv and decided to make my post for the day.

I spent quite a bit of time over at 2 Sister’s from the Right site catching up on some interesting articles. Today was about the govenor of Alaska blasting the congress for not using more of our own countries resources and building here instead of buying foreign oil. Seems our congress is not willing when it’s here. Also not passing many of the good bills the president brought forth to improve and help with a lot of the problems. But I have talked about that before. Being from a state that has a large investment in the oil industry I can say that I find it unusual as to why we haven’t built more refineries and look for more oil when it’s a known fact that this country has plenty of oil beneath it’s ground. There is a little town southwest of us where in fact a refinery was shut down. Didn’t do alot for the town when they did. Think of all the jobs that would become available if they were to reopen and build new refineries. The few people I’ve heard talking that are in the oil industry say our country has more than enough. It’s a question that I feel our congress and senate need to do something about. Does the countries politicians really care about the average american citizen? I haven’t thought so in a long long time.

There was another shark attack in which the person attacked died because of massive blood loss. There was one last week-end of a 60+ yr old man that was attacked they say by a great white and he died of his injury too due to blood loss. They did close the beach and tried to locate the shark, but I can’t see how the possibly could of found it. They do move pretty fast and I am betting it was miles away from the scene not long afterwards. Certainly would make me very leary of swimming in the ocean. I’ve been to both the east and west coast seeing the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It’s beautiful, but I’ve never really cared that much for swimming in the ocean. When I was really young I did with the innocence of youth, but even in my late 20’s and older I just never felt comfortable swimming in a lake or the ocean. I sort of like being able to see the bottom of the water I’m in. lol. I am so sorry though for the families of those two who died. It’s a risk anyone takes I’m sure when they choose to swim in the ocean. Sharks are facinating creatures as are all wild animals. You take risks when you are around anything that is wild.

For some fun and silliness here is a quiz from Blogthings.

Your Heart is Blue and Purple

Your heart is enticing and enchanting.

You are charismatic, larger than life, and fascinating.

You bring fantasy and romance to relationships.

You’re good at making someone ordinary seem extraordinary.

Till next time……

It is alway wise
to stop wishing for
things long enough
to enjoy the fragrance
of those now flowering.

Tuesdays doings…

Photobucket I’ve no special plans for today, except to get some laundry done. There were some really bad tornado’s that hit in Virginia yesterday. It was the top news story today on Fox. Also watched President Bush’s press conference on the state of the economy. He agreed that it was not in good shape, but stated that congress did not appear to interested in promoting anything that would help. I tend very much to agree with him on that statement. I don’t know if we are in a true recession, but I admit that the cost of things are so high and nothing is being done about trying to improve or reduce them. One thing I do think and agree with him on is that we need to build and do more of the oil refining that is being done and we do have plenty of oil in our country and so need to stop buying from overseas. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all the problems our nation is dealing with, without seeing any postive efforts to resolve them in any way.

Dancing with the Stars was good last night. I was so sad to see Cristian hurt is arm. I do hope he will be ok. I thought the judges especially Len, were pretty harsh to Kristi. Also I think that Shannon Elizabeth is such a big flirt. Now that Marlee is gone I’m voting for Marissa and Tony. I also like Jason and Edyta. I really enjoyed Riverdance at last weeks elimination show. I truly love to watch that type of dancing. I don’t think I could ever get my feet to move that fast. lol.. Wonder who will go home tonight. The special 100th show is coming up and it looks to be a really awesome one. Will be great to see some of the former stars return.

Not much else to chatter about. I’m rather tired today as I couldn’t seem to sleep last night. I will probably take a nap or two. *smiles* It was another cold night and morning, but is already warming up to the 70’s. I haven’t eaten anything yet today. JD is working till closing again. I am going to fix myself an early lunch. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Till next time…..

follow your dream.

you heart lead the way.

Monday doings….

Photobucket We didn’t take a drive friday as I had hoped. JD was really tired and so I just fixed us a small supper and let him relax and get comfortable. He is off Thursday and Friday of this week so maybe we can do it one of those nights.

The week-end was pretty much the usual. I went to pogo.com and found the Bingo game I really enjoy. So went there quite a bit and enjoyed playing. Years ago when my best friend was here we would go fairly often and play Bingo. It’s big in Oklahoma. I never won hardly especially big except for one time. But the winning wasn’t all that important to me. Just spending time with my friend and being out was the most fun for me. I haven’t been for years. I kept seeing advertizements for Pogo and the free games so decided to give it a look see. I immediately was drawn to the Laua Bingo and found it was a lot of fun. The graphics are great and it gives you different opportunities to increase your Bingo tokens which was neat so that you felt it was worth playing even if you didn’t win. lol.. The blogging world and even getting emails is much slower on the week-ends so this was nice to find.

Saturday night Emily and Michael had a wedding to attend and Emily asked if I like to keep Preston. Which of course I did. She met us at 5 and we treated Preston to Pizza before we headed home with him. He was really great that night, played well and enjoyed some of his tv shows. It was late when Emily came to get him. I had him in his pj’s and even had him lying down on the couch and he would of went to sleep, but she called so I let him stay awake so he would go to bed quickly when he got home. Sunday JD worked so I just spent a quiet day at home, playing Bingo off and on.

Tonight is Dancing with the Stars. JD is working evenings so he’ll be home at the tail end. I was so sleepy all morning and really didn’t wake up good till almost noon. It got cold last night and this morning but has warmed up to the 70’s.

The news this morning was the speech that Rev. Wright gave at the press club’s breakfast meeting. I gather that they feel he will damage Obama’s campaign even more with this. He say’s he is getting threats on his life, which I don’t doubt, but what got me was that the Islamic nation is giving him protection? He states he is patriotic and I was surprised to hear he had served 6 years in the military as a Marine, but that his hatred is against our govt. I know that our govt. if far from perfect, in fact I’ve been very mad and angry with it too, but we need to find a way to improve it, not condemn it. He is just so full of hatred and bitterness and is still carrying the grief of slavery into today. As long a blacks continue to carry this chip on their shoulder about their past we will never get past the problem of racism in this country. All people of all nationalities need to learn to forgive, put the past behind and love and respect each other. I’m not saying we should forget. No we need to be reminded of the cruelty that had happened. We need to remember it was past tense, had and not something that needs to be fueled into what is going on today. Well it’s just my opinion.

Found this new meme called Question of the Week. It’s really several questions, but it looks interesting so I decided to do it. It’s listed at the meme’s list.

Question of the Week #16

1. Have you tried running far away from home alone? How does it feel? -I have felt like it, but have never did it, I couldn’t think of where I would go, how I would get by and I believe whatever you’ve commited to you need to stick with it, especially with marriage, family, etc.
2. Who or what is most beautiful to you? -Anyone who has a loving, kind and compassionate heart for others.
3. You are still sleeping and suddenly someone wakes you up. What would be your first reaction? -JD has done that to me and I screamed, I certainly jump up with a start. lol
4. What’s your significant other/partner/husband/wife calls you? And what do you call him/her? -I call JD by his given name Jerry and he calls me by mine.
5. Someone is knocking at your car window, and you see a little girl selling fruits for $1. Are you going to buy one or just ignore her? Please be honest. -If it’s a fruit I like I would buy one, if it was something I wouldn’t eat I would say simply, “No thank you I don’t care for _____ maybe next time.”
6. What time did you wake up today? Happy or Sad? -I woke up around 9am and I was happy.
7. Do you go to work everyday? Where? -No I’m retired from nursing and am on disability now
8. What did you do this past weekend? -Watched my Grandson and played Bingo on line
9. A random photo off the web…anything at all that you think is worth posting. Post it here.

Lake Geneva, Switzerland

10. Why did you chose that picture/image? -I have always love the Alps of Switerland and the country itself, it has been a dream of mine that one day I would get to travel there and see the Alps in person.

Till next time…..

Some blessings -
like rainbows after rain
or a friend’s listening ear -
are extraordinary gifts
waiting to be discovered
in an ordinary day.

Have no where special in mind just thought we’d stop when ever we saw someplace we’d like to eat at. We never really doing anything on the spur of the moment, so thought it would be nice. Just hope JD isn’t to tired to do it.

A short post…

Filed under: Chit Chat — by imanokiegal @ 3:50 pm

I have just installed the Window’s Live writer, and it asks I provide a short post so it could download my style and template that I’m using.  I am in hopes that I will be able to set up my own template in the future.  If not then I suppose I’ll just continue with the templates that WP provides.  It would be nice to configure my own layout again.  We’ll see.
