The long awaited arrival for Santa is over for Preston, Maddie and Eli. I called them all this morning and they called back, because everyone apparently slept in. I didn’t, in fact I was up by 7am, which is very early for me. Maybe now that all the hoopla is over I will sleep well tonight and sleep in tomorrow. JD heads back to work till Saturday. He is off, then I don’t know about Sunday and the next week, except they are closed New Year’s Day. We have just had a rather lazy and quiet day here. JD went into town, but came home and said nothing was open except “Denny’s” so he had a hamburger. I grilled chicken breasts and fixed mashed potatos and a veggie for our Christmas Dinner. It was good and filling.
I put in a DVD movie this afternoon, “Master and Commander, The Far side of the World” with Russell Crowe. It has no females except a few in a boat when they have stopped long enough to pick up some supplies and they were just looking on. Even without a romantic line to the story I really enjoy the movie. Show’s how life at sea was hard, yet how a commaradier is formed amoung the crew. Also the sea is a powerful set, especially when they are going around Cape Horn from the Atlantic to the Pacific and their stop at the Galapago islands. I saw the part on it in the “Earth” series. Fascinating place of strange and unique species. JD and I were talking about the difference’s in today’s navy and the navy back then of countries. He mention the U.S.S. Constitution which is still used today for some training missions I gather and the last wood sailing ship of the American Navy. A Museum piece too and would be so interesting to see and visit. I really don’t think I could spend a lot of time on one and sailing the ocean. I am pretty sure I would get very sea sick. Doesn’t take a lot to upset my stomach.
I will probably watch another movie tonight, but haven’t decided which one. If I were going out to the movies I would be interested in seeing “Charlie Wilson’s War” or “The Great Debater’s” which opened today. I remember going to movie at Christmas when I was insistent on seeing “Return of the king” the day it opened. My only mistake that day was not taking any kleenex. lol… The crowded theater was worth it though.
Well I am in the process of making visit’s this evening. I see many have stopped by here. Amazing how we who are computer addicted even manage time online on the holidays. lol. I’ll be here New Year’s too as we don’t go out anymore. We are usually lucky if we make it to midnight the past few years. That could be a late night for me I am sure. I do pray your Christmas day was a good one and that you wished Jesus a happy Birthday and a wish for him to return soon. I also had a very nice Christmas. My exchange gift was a very handy traveler purse, which is small and great for when you are going by plane or even bus or train. Carries the basic essentials and can be a shoulder or around your waist bag. Small and compact too. Also a pair of Aloe socks, which are so soft and comfortable and a beautiful forest green wrap or shawl. These were gift’s brought by my sil, Bec, who has such wonderful taste. I am thrilled with each of them. Also JD bought me some mandarin scented Candles which are so nice. So Santa was very good to me this year. *smiles* I am off to finish visiting.. Till next time…. Praise God for his blessings and

at Christmas,
but all the long year

Hi, dear friend. Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas! My gifts seemed to be all spa-related: a lovely blue bathrobe and lots of things from Bath & Body Works. So if you catch of whiff of floral and ginger, it could be your friend in Florida! Take care and I’ll write you in the next day or so.

Hi Nancze, sounds like a wonderful Christmas! I haven’t been much on the computer lately, I do apoligize, just haven’t have time for everything, so the computer took last priority! LOL Hopefully things will begin to get back to normal. I would like to try and change out graphics today, but I have some errands to run this morning first.
Lots of hugs my sweet friend
Christmas isn’t about doing more and I know the kids understood. Your grandkids got their surprises and I am sure their faces lit up when they saw what Santa left behind for them.
We had a lovely Christmas and as fast as it approached it was over again…ahhhh
Wishing you a sprakling New Years Eve sissi, wishing you only the best for 2008, may your dreams and wishes come true.
Looking forward to another year of friendship also. Know you are in my thoughts and heart.
Have a wonderful weekend !!!

Hi Nancze,
I am so sorry that I haven’t been around. I have not been feeling well and I was so busy with all of the Christmas preps. I had Christmas Eve and Christmas here. I cooked for three days. Now it is my turn to just get myself better.
I am so happy you had a wonderful Christmas. We are not doing much for New Year’s Eve either. I am not sure if Carrie and her clan will be down as Carrie has to work both New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Although I had a wonderful holiday, I am glad that it is finally over.
Have a cozy evening.
Love and hugs
